What’s The Tea?

A mentoring program for girls in grades five through eight. Girls learn to create their own herbal tea blends that support mental and physical health while engaging in discussions and activities to establish healthy mental and emotional responses.

We Offer:

  • Life Skills: Introduce scholars to resources and practical life skills including career exploration, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, etc.

  • Mentorship: Scholars are paired with a professional mentor for the duration of the. Mentors serve as positive role models who share similar life or career interests. 

  • Community: Introduce the value of establishing and engaging with the community of peers. Relying on established communities for knowledge of resources, and support. Perform service projects within the community with the mission to improve the quality of life.

  • Herbal Education: Provides access to herbal teas and information regarding herbal combinations that have been proven to help soothe and relieve the mind and body.

  • Social Emotional Enrichment: Provide scholars with knowledge and skills to understand and manage their emotions and the emotions of others appropriately in social environments. Practice healthy coping skills to manage thoughts and emotions associated with daily experiences. Practice establishing and maintaining positive relationships with self and others. 

Grown-ish: We’re Going Through Changes

An afterschool enrichment program that prepares youth in grades nine through twelve to become self-sufficient young adults through social and emotional education, academic support, self discovery, career exploration and practical application of life skills. 

We Offer:

  • Academic support: Weekly 2 hour sessions where skilled professionals support students in academic tutoring focused on math, english, and science. Offer support with writing professional documents including resumes, essays, application etc. Provide preparation for tests and exams including SAT and ACT

  • Life Skills: Introduce scholars to resources and practical life skills including career opportunities, temporary permit, financial literacy, First Aid and CPR Training, Community service, sexual safety, etc.

  • Social Emotional Enrichment: Provide scholars with knowledge and skills to understand and manage their emotions and the emotions of others appropriately in social environments. Practice healthy coping skills to manage thoughts and emotions associated with daily experiences. Practice establishing and maintaining positive relationships with self and others.
